Community groups always seek to be available to the community that they exist to help.  Methods of general advertising include making leaflets available, being registered in a directory and having a website. 

Special funding has been made available by Fareham Borough Council so that groups can easily create a website.  After a little instruction simple websites, such as this, are as easy as using a word processor. 

Fareham Community Action can help

• register a domain    eg   www.farehamgroup.org.uk

• set-up the first few pages of your site

• set-up email accounts    eg   secretary@farehamgroup.org.uk 

• be available to give further web support.

• link your site to the directory and search engines.

The only cost is £10 per year for the domain and web hosting.  We have prepared a facts sheet on simple sites and domain registration.   This offer of assistance is subject to our acceptable use policy.

Further assistance with Computer matters can be obtained from the charity-owned "Really Helpful IT company"  www.trhitc.co.uk .  Member organisations of Fareham Community Action can request a 50% subsidy on the already reduced hourly charges while we have the small grant from the Home Office Infrastructure Fund.
